Canada Day!

Canadian FlagOnce again, I know I am a few days late on this post, but I am trying to catch up for lost days.

July 1 is called Canada Day because July 1, 1867, Canada officially became its own country. So us Canadians celebrate the birthday of our country.

This year, I celebrated Canada Day with my family. Every year we go to a baseball game to celebrate all of our birthdays, courtesy of my grandparents, but this year we decided to go on Canada Day. So we celebrated our birthdays and Canada’s birthday too!

We had a great day, loaded with fun. So that’s how we celebrated Canada Day, did anyone else celebrate?

Here is a song about Canada, and it’s awesomeness ūüôā

School is out!

I’m sorry I haven’t been updating my blog for a while, but I have been fairly busy.

Our school year is over! On June 29, we had our last day of school! Of course, we didn’t do very much. Our day mainly consisted of cleaning the classroom, goofing around, walking uptown for icecream, and going outside early. Even though the year was ending, it really didn’t feel like we had been in school for as long as we should have been. Oh well! It’s all over now!

On the Tuesday, June 28, we had our graduation night. It was a great night, but in the end it was sad because we all knew that this was our last year together as one class. This next year coming up, we will all be in grade 9, in high school. Since it is summer vacation, I thought it would be appropriate to have this song. Enjoy!

Getting Serious

Last Days of SchoolEven though school is just about finished ( June 29 it ends), we are now crunching. Our teacher needs our final marks for our report cards, so we are finishing our subjects up with some tests and projects. Science-we have a test tomorrow and a project due on Monday, then in History we have a test on Tuesday. We have to get everything finished for the end of the year soon, because our year end trip is almost here-3 days long. Then we have Plya Day,  Graduation, and the end of the school year.

What is your class up to right now?

Hot Hot Hot

It's SummerWow! The summer heat is really coming now! Just this past week the temperature has been increasing like crazy. Around this time of year, the weather usually gets warm, then hot, then back down to cool, and hot again. The temperature is usually up and down. Right now we are on an up! It is around 26 degrees Celsius with a humidex of around 35. HOT! And it isn’t even summer yet-it’s still spring! It just feels like summer.

What is your weather like right now?

My group’s Video!

This is my group’s video. We made it for a class assignment. In English we read the book called Stargirl, and then we had to make a video that showed the main turning point in the book. So we figured that the turning point was when people started hating Stargirl. This made Leo really think about the people around him, and himself.¬†Enjoy our video!

My Blogging Nominations!

iloveyourblogI nominate Crystal! ( For my class )

I nominated my classmate Crystal because I feel that she is a great blogger. She has finished all of the challenges and her blog looks great. It is very bright and `Look At Me!` She has a lot of colourful things on her blog, and her posts are sort and sweet. Some are longer and they get you really into her topic. This is why I nominate Crystal for the blogging award.

For my overseas blogging award, I nominate Chloe O’D. She is from Ireland, and I find her posts very interesting. Most things have nothing to do with the challenges, but some are very fun to read. Visit Chloe @

I have 989 visitors from March 21st until today.

¬†All of a sudden, just a few weeks ago, my visitor count just started climbing by the hundreds! I am so close to 1000, and my name hasn’t even been mentioned on the blogging¬†site. ¬†So happy that people are checking my blog out! I am almost caught up with my other classmate whose name was mentioned! So thanks to all of my visitors, please keep coming back! And tell your friends!

I would like to thank Meme…

For this post, I think that I am really happy about starting curling. This past year, I started taking lessons for curling. Right away people were saying that I am a natural. I am very happy with my progression, because at the beginning I was clueless about what to do, but just after a year of doing it I have learned so much. Next year I am doing it again and I am very excited about it. I am also glad that I started to curl because I made some new friends. the curling arena isn’t in my area so I didn’t know many people there. I got to make new friends, and do something that I now love.

The reason that I even wanted to try curling was because my backyard neighbours have been doing it for years. They told us about it, and right away I thought it would be cool to try. Also, the 2010 Olympics that were held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada really got me hooked on the sport. Then, in March we went to the Briers (Men`s Canadian Curling Championship) where the winner gets to represent Canada in the World Championship. After this, I got to get autographs from my favourite team-Team Martin/Team Alberta. Right away, I knew that I wanted to do this sport.

So from the Olympics until now, I have been in love with this sport. I am very happy with my progress and I can’t wait to do it more.

About The Blogging Challenge…

¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†student_challenge-17fpfd0-1iypr9z¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Registration: Absolutely. Two weeks should be plenty long enough for people to sign up for the blogging challenge. This way, people who are waiting for it can sign up right away, and then people who hear about it can have 2 whole weeks to sign up. Also, the first challenges are easier, so if people sign up later and it’s already the first week, they could easily catch up.That is why I think that 2 weeks is long enough for people to sign up for the blogging challenge.

Student and class pages: They are helpful. They help you find things and then you can do better in the challenge. You can navigate around the website and it helps you find things.

The challenges:

I visit the actual site. Our teacher does have links to the challenges, but I just went straight to this website to find out what I have to do this week.

The challenges that were most useful is when I learned things. Like the linking to the images and finding out how to work on a blog and post things, it really helped me learn. My cousin has a blog, so now I know how she actually posts things and gets pictures and videos up. Blogging is great.

The things that were most interesting is when I learned how to do things. This is when I could figure out if I could actually get how to do something, and if I did, then I would be happy I got it. Some posts had interesting topics that we had to do, but it was all fun.

I think that all of the challenges were good, um, I can’t really think of any other topics. But maybe things involving more multi-cultural things? Like food from around the world or something.

No, I think that the challenges explains how to do the posts/what we have to do. Miss W did a good job on explaining how we were supposed to be doing things.

Yes, they were helpful. You could see how people did things, and it might inspire you for the way you did something. It was very helpful for the ‘visit these’ posts.

They were interesting. It tought you how to use different types of things such as animato or polldaddy, and it just helped you learn knew things that might be useful later on in life.

Yes, there were plenty of chances. In some challenges you had so see other blogs from around the world, and in your spare time if you wanted to see other people’s blogs, you could. I think there were plenty of opportunities to check out other people’s blogs.

It was tons of fun!

My blogging so far…

Blog PictureAs of right now, I have 39 posts (40 including this one). That includes posts from the challenges and posts that I write on my own. I have 34 posts for the challenges, 3 posts for our class, 4 random posts, 3 involving me, and 2 that are posts of my interests. (Some have more than one tag) I have 29 comments. They are from classmates, teachers, and people all around the world.

The post that got the most comments was ‘You should visit my blog! :)’. This post got¬†a lot of comments-8. But that is because my cousin Erin commented on it, and we kind of had our own little conversation about¬†books. It was still about my blog though.

The post that I most enjoyed writing was…’Where I would like to find my way to!’. It was great just thinking about Italy. I have so much fun dreaming of going to Italy, and it just seems like a wonderful place to be. I’m not sure that I would like to live there, but I would definitely love to visit there.

I changed my theme a few times, because I was trying to decide how I wanted my blog to look. My first theme, the beach one, was really good, but then my calendar messed up. So I thought that if I changed my theme, it would go better. No such luck. So then I just went for this one, because it is simple and brighter. It’s pretty.

I have 19 widgets. I don’t think that I have too many.¬†For example, my teacher, Miss H., her blog has 19 widgets. But she must have bigger ones, because her site takes a little while longer to load. So if you had plenty more than me, you would have too many-your website would take a long time to load. And if you have less than me, try to at least have 10 I would say, so then it gives more to your site.

I have 4 overseas blogs on my blog roll. I meant to put up more, so I will eventually get there. But they are¬†people’s blogs that I have visited and left¬† comment on.
